Birmingham Children’s Hospital has signed a seven-year, $5.6 million contract with Agfa HealthCare, which will upgrade the hospital’s existing Agfa PACS and CR while adding RIS and cardiology systems.

Located in Birmingham, England, Birmingham Children’s Hospital NHS Foundation Trust will pay 4 million euros ($5.6 million USD) to replace its Agfa PACS and CR, as well as the hospital’s third-party RIS. The contract also includes a new cardiology system to store echocardiograms and book, manage, report and retrieve images for radiology and cardiology, according to Mortsel, Belgium-based Agfa, which develops medical imaging and IT systems.
