Northwell Health, Peerbridge team up to expand the use of remote electrocardiogram

Northwell Health, the largest healthcare provider in New York, has partnered with Peerbridge Health to help further develop a new remote electrocardiogram as the company seeks approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

New York-based Peerbridge makes a compact, lightweight, multi-channel electrocardiogram monitor, according to a statement from the two companies. Peerbridge’s Cor device showed superiority to Holter devices in an ambulatory ECG clinical trial at Lenox Hill Hospital, a Northwell-owned, 652-bed acute care hospital in New York.

The Peerbridge Cor designed for patients with atrial fibrillation and other cardiovascular issues, showed that it delivered excellent, multi-channel, analyzable data with fewer false positives than a Holter device.

"Our collaboration with Peerbridge Health is part of our overarching strategy to introduce disruptive technologies that will help shape the future of health care delivery," said Michael Dowling, president and CEO of Northwell Health, in a statement.
