AdvaMed elects Edwards CEO Mussallem as chair of board
Michael A. Mussallem, chairman and CEO of Edwards Lifesciences, was elected to a two-year term as chairman of the board of directors of the Advanced Medical Technology Association (AdvaMed).

For the past two years, he has served as chairman of AdvaMed's board committee on Payment and Healthcare Delivery, according to the Irvine, Calif.-based Edwards.

Mussallem has headed Edwards since it was spun-off from Baxter International and began operating as an independent company in April 2000, the company said.  Prior to that, he was responsible for the worldwide operations of both Baxter's CardioVascular business and its Biopharmaceuticals business, Edwards reported.
