The advanced AI model, developed by Anumana with help from Mayo Clinic, could provide value as a screening tool for heart failure.

Asking patients to use smartphone-powered ECG devices following catheter ablation procedures could be incredibly beneficial, according to new findings published in JACC: Clinical Electrophysiology. 

The Body Scan Connected Health Station includes a high-strength glass platform with four weight sensors and 14 ITO electrodes and a retractable handle with four stainless steel electrodes.

“If we can deploy our model on a population-level ECG screening, we would be able to pick up many more of these patients before they have irreversible damage,” a cardiologist behind the new study explained. 

The new-look devices are soft, flexible, transparent and roughly the size of a postage stamp.

The algorithm, developed using data from more than 7,00 chest pain patients, performed better than multiple techniques currently used to evaluate cardiac events. 

Anumana, Pfizer and Mayo Clinic all worked together to develop the advanced algorithm. The groups are now targeting full regulatory approval in the U.S., Europe and Japan.
