A new comprehensive vascular program, which combines endovascular and surgical experience, has gotten underway at the El Camino Hospital Los Gatos in California.
In addition to treatment, the program will offer patients in-office services such as patient consultation, general cardiac care, peripheral vascular disease screening, non-invasive testing, in-office vein procedures and diabetes education and management.
Hardeep Ahluwalia, MD, a vascular surgeon at Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists in Mountain View, Calif., has been appointed the program’s medical director. He will partner with James Joye, MD, an endovascular specialist and partner at Advanced Cardiovascular Specialists.
Prior to the appointment, Ahluwalia served with Joye at the El Camino Hospital’s Heart & Vascular Institute.
“The field of cardiology historically has been fragmented, with surgeons, interventionalists and even radiologists vying to treat patients according to what they know best,” said Joye. “The ingenious aspect of this program is our comprehensive approach to detecting, managing and treating vascular disease.”
