In a recent essay in The Huffington Post, cardiologist Joel Kahn, MD, argues that presidential candidate Donald Trump should be conscious of his heart health, after Kahn analyzed the medical records Trump released.
Kahn suggests in the essay that Trump stay on top of his coronary artery calcium scores and increase his intake of vegetables, fruits and whole grains. Though his CACS score isn’t perfect at 98—it should be zero—Kahn says Trump is healthy enough to serve as president.
“An ethical imperative would be to review the scientific data with him indicating that low-fat, plant-based diets and lifestyle may improve and reverse atherosclerosis,” Kahn wrote in the essay.
