Bristol Myers Squibb has elected Lamberto Andreotti as president and a member of its board of directors, effective this week.

Andreotti will continue to have responsibility for global pharmaceuticals, technical operations and global marketing, while adding oversight of information management, according to the New York City-based company. He will continue to report to James M. Cornelius, chairman and CEO.

Andreotti has been with Bristol Myers for 11 years. From 2002-2005, Andreotti served as a corporate senior vice president, and international president of the worldwide medicines group. From 2005-2007, he served as executive VP (EVP) of worldwide pharmaceuticals. In May 2007, Andreotti was named EVP and chief operating officer.

Bristol Myers said that Elliott Sigal, MD, EVP, chief scientific officer and president of research & development, and Jean-Marc Huet, EVP and chief financial officer, will continue to report to Cornelius and form its executive committee.
