Senate plans on holding a procedural vote on Califf’s nomination for FDA commissioner

The Senate plans on holding a procedural vote on Feb. 22 on the nomination of veteran cardiologist Robert Califf, MD, to become FDA commissioner, Politico reports.

The website noted that Bernie Sanders and two other Democrats have expressed concerns about Califf’s ties to the pharmaceutical industry and the FDA’s handling of opioids.
