Pennsylvania cardiologist dies at 75

Acclaimed cardiologist Michael Joseph Ryan, who worked for decades to fight heart disease, died June 6 at the age of 75 from complications of cancer, reports Philly.com.

He died in the neuro-cardiac intensive care unit at Bryn Mawr Hospital in Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania.

Ryan earned his medical degree from the University of Kansas and later served in the Navy as a lieutenant commander. He completed his residency in internal medicine at Hartford Hospital and a fellowship at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston.
