NovaRad introduces new RIS/PACS for radiology reading groups
NovaRad is introducing NovaPro, the firm's latest RIS/PACS product, which is built for radiologist groups that read for multiple hospitals, clinics and imaging centers.

The NovaPro RIS/PACS is designed to provide image retrieval, management and report distribution capabilities. The American Fork, Utah-based company said its NovaPro facilitates the receipt of DICOM images from unlimited, unaffiliated image producing practices and ensures images and information remains separate. Image retrieval is provided without the necessity to store or maintain the image files. Received images are scrubbed from the archive when the storage limit, pre-determined by the interpreting physician, is reached.

However, if the storage and archiving of images and reports is required, the company said the system is configurable to be a PACS. System capabilities also include the automatic distribution of resulting reports through direct HL7 messaging, email or fax to an existing hospital information system, RIS and/or EMR/EHR.
