How do interventionalists stay current on all the exciting research regarding drug-eluting stents (DES)? Well, that is what this session is geared to do!
At ACC.10, there will be late-breaking clinical trials that involve DES, but many of you are still trying to digest the data from the trials discussed at ACC.09. How do you make sense of it all? In this session, expect a nice summary of the key contemporary clinical DES trials and their relevance to current practice.
Also, while DES are the answer to many clinical scenarios, they are not perfect. A better understanding of the mechanism of failure could help the interventionalist choose the right stent for the right patient, as well as improve its delivery. The topics of restenosis and thrombosis round out this session, before the panel gathers to discuss their lectures and attendees' questions
