Duke University announced that Manesh Patel, MD, would become its chief of the division of cardiology effective Oct. 3.
Patel will continue to serve as co-director of the Duke Heart Center, according to a news release. He has been on Duke’s faculty since 2006.
Patel is the chair of the American College of Cardiology task force for appropriate use criteria for cardiovascular procedures and the chair of the American Heart Association diagnostic and interventional cath committee.
Duke said that Patel’s research areas of interest include cardiac imaging, quality of care, cardiac devices, diagnostic and interventional coronary angiography, peripheral angiography and endovascular intervention.
