The American Health Council selected Richard A. Hughes, MD, a cardiothoracic anesthesiologist, to join its physician board.
Hughes works at Anesthesia Practice Consultants P.C. in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where he provides anesthesia services for coronary, heart and lung transplants. He also handles peri-operative pain management at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids Michigan and Blodgett Hospital in East Grand Rapids, Michigan.
Hughes earned his medical degree from Creighton University School of Medicine in 2007, completed an internship at the University of Colorado in 2008 and finished his residency at Baylor College of Medicine in 2011. He also had a fellowship in anesthesiology from the Cleveland Clinic in 2012.
