Terumo launches guiding catheter for right radial access
Terumo Interventional Systems, a business unit of Terumo Medical and manufacturer of guidewires, catheters, sheaths and embolization products, has released the Heartrail III coronary guiding catheter, designed for right radial access for transradial interventional procedures.

The Heartrail III guiding catheter is designed for use in the left- or right-coronary artery, according to Terumo. Heartrail III guiding catheters offer both Ikari and TIG radial tip shapes with these new features:
  • A curve design that addresses the backup support needed for right radial access;
  • Bigger lumen size (6 Fr., 1.80 mm inner diameter);
  • New shaft design;
  • Torque control for the engagement of the artery; and
  • High radiopacity allows tip positioning in coronary ostium.

The Heartrail guiding catheter also is available in Europe and Asia.
