Senator Orrin G. Hatch of Utah, the head of the Senate Finance Committee, has asked 20 hospital systems for information on concurrent surgeries from 2011 to 2015, the Boston Globe reports.
The newspaper reported that committee staff members have met with representatives from the American College of Surgeons about the practice of concurrent surgeries after the Boston Globe wrote about the practice.
