Since the beginning of the year, CMS has approved two facilities for performing carotid artery stenting for high risk patients.
CMS approved Redlands Community Hospital in Redlands, California and Dignity Health Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, California.
In all, 1,369 facilities have met CMS’s standard for performing carotid artery stenting for high risk patients since March 30, 2005. The distinction allows the facilities to perform the procedures for Medicare and Medicaid patients.
