GE appoints Denman as CMO

William Denman, MD, has been appointed chief medical officer (CMO) at GE Healthcare.

Denman is the former chief medical officer and vice president of medical affairs for Covidien, based in Dublin, where he was responsible for strategic direction of medical affairs, clinical affairs and healthcare economics and outcomes, according to GE.

At GE, the company said that Denman will provide clinical direction, working with the global quality, regulatory and medical organizations. Denman also will lead all clinical and evidence generation strategies across GE Healthcare.  Denman will be part of GE's newly expanded global quality, regulatory and medical organization, led by Chief Quality Officer Dee Mellor.

Denman is currently involved in various clinical and basic science research projects at Massachusetts General Hospital and Harvard Medical School in Boston. He received his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland.
